Bat stroke for short chip and pitch
Still trying to standardize the chipping and pitching stroke. Haven't difficulty to create the feel to chip the ball close to the hole. Especially around 20-30 yards, just don't know what to use when standing in front of the ball.

1. Try the pushing stroke but ball goes low, like hitting on the ball, and far.

2. Currently trying this: at address, ball at the right leg, just picking up the right forearm without fanning, more covering the line, and then straighten the right forearm. The reason I am trying this is I thought just using the full stroke concept (I am a hitter), using the right forearm up and down. Is this the bat stroke, as this is not a punch stroke since no fanning, not a push stroke as the right elbow not going up. Please advise.

3. Also try doing the same as 2 but with fanning, the ball goes high and short, looks like a lop short. Is this correct too?

Thanks in advance.

here is my chipping and pitching technique and i don't vary the thrust for yardage i just vary the club. Sometimes for a 40 pitch i might use the motion i descirbe below with an 8 iron depending on how i want the ball to "flight."

Setup with the ball towards the middle of your stance or even a little back. Setup your impact alignments and start from this position.

I use almost almost a pull swing but i use vertical hinging so the ball still goes straight.

I use no lower body movement and simply pick the club straight back (almost like a putting motion) and then use right arm thrust and hit the BACK of the ball but again since i use a vertical hinge with no roll the ball goes straight.

For a better description see my post in this section and how i describe my punch shot technique.....for me this is nothing but a complete right arm motion with a CONSCIOUS thrust through impact.
