I've been messing around with the arm position at address I noticed that when I have my shoulders back and basically behind my chest rather than the top of the arms in front of the chest I take the club more up the plane in startup and tend ti have a shorter swing with more trigger delay. Hogan described it as having his arms on the side of his rib cage, retief goosen says he likes to have plenty of room with the hands away from the top of the thighs trying to figure out a position that helps me get up the plane more natural ly and restricts the length of the swing without being too jammed up or restrictive. My thinking is they should be how they are as you stand naturally
Homer recommended that we "keep the Shoulders forward - with Pectoral action if necessary" (2-M-3), and I always felt that was good advice. But maybe it depends on the individual.
Interesting good stuff. Joe daniels seemed to be in the camp that your shouldets should stay how they are naturally standing up relaxed but with good posture then simply bend at the waist. Hogan described his arms as being on the side of his ribcage. What does he mean by pectoral action there?
Huh, weird i would think pectoral action would be more like proud posture puffing the chest out instead of rolling the shoulders forward. I cant really pull the shoulders forward with the pectorals. How does the position of your shoulders at address effect your swing plane personally have you experimented with this?

You use the muscles over the shoulder blades to push the shoulders forward, and is done by players without much waist bend, who stand tall to the ball.
