Hey I changed to a hitter a couple of months ago and was going great but I feel like I have lost it a little and now im searching. I was hitting my nice straight shot that falls to the right and didnt draw it due to the angled hinge but now I am struggling to hit it again and fighting a hook shot. I wondered if someone had any advice for me with regards to my swing and hitting.
I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me would comment. I am rather new to TGM and worse, working alone (no AI where I live, not enough time in my hands to travel to take lessons). I have switched to hitting a few months ago with mixed results.
Are you trying to hit per 12-1-0 or doing 4-barrel hitting ? You're going back all the way to End. I find it hard to hit from there, I guess because PP3 has rotated, I also tend to use too much hip rotation and my right arm "loose access to the ball" (my impression).
The video is dark and with dark clothes I can't see what's the right arm doing. The video also missing frames around impact but it seems that the face has rotated a lot (horizontal hinge?).
No expert here either, but u take what you can get on sunday afternoon.
A lttle steep on the plane line.
If you worked on the Mcdonald drill, pulling left kneee toward the ball and then behind it, allowing it to come up on the toe, that might cure a lot of it. Would get you more "back" and cause more of an inside DS move. Maybe exagerate with a drop to the elbow plane.
left....rigt......left...............right........ ....lot of magic in those drills.

Guru,
I would tend to think a flatter plane "angle" would hook it even more given the same others.
I am trying to hit per 12-1-0 I have been finding it hard not to go to end. Believe it or not it has shortened a little lol. I see what you mean JTillery and I think your right no doubt that im not using angled hinge. If I learn the angled hinge I wont have to worry about that left shot and can hit down the left side and have it move back without fear, am I right?
Here is a better video I took because of the poor quality of the last one.

Thanks again guys
No way that ball went left is there?
Also, just curious why you decided to hit? Anyway, the club getting kicked out like that halfway down shows turndown and way more #2 than #1. That combined with the HH of the first video definitely would suggest you need a LOT more driving down and out of that straightening right arm if you're wanting a "hit" and not a hook.

Thanks so much for any advice
Here is the link to my swing
First of all, this is a great golf swing. That hook's purely a clubface and angle of attack issue. Its one thing to "try" to zero pivot, but while you're doing it, dont let it talk you into hanging back. I see a hang back with too much roll (one feeding the other)
Shift more wait and sooner, and rehearse what an angled hinge would look like.
Good luck!
