I have developed a bad case of "golfers elbow", (medial epicondylitis). I am a swinger and have been trying to keep my right arm out of my swing, but I suspect I am becoming a "switter". It seems most people who have elbow problems have pain in the outer area of the elbow, but mine is on the inside. Can you comment on the likely cause, i.e. poor techique, that is causing this?
Also, I know an elbow strap won't cure the problem, but would it help to stop any further damage?

Golfer's elbow is typically pain on the inside of the elbow; tennis elbow is the outside.

I used an elbow strap when I had a similar problem in the spring (golf and raquetball). I found it most useful after I had let the tendons rest for a week or two and began to play again. If you can't let it rest, I'd avoid any practice on mats or hard pan until things feel better. If rest and other typical tendinitis treatments don't help and it's been more than a couple weeks, you should get with a doc or personal trainer that knows what they're doing, as it could be tendinosis instead of tendinitis (Vickie might have some good feedback here).
I appreciate the comments. One thing I have become aware of from reading the links is that I have been swinging with very firm wrists in an attempt to keep a flat left wrist. So, it sounds like I should be getting my right arm out of the swing and then keep my wrists flexible. Correct?
