The name Yoda is surely rightfully your's. I am curious though, if you aren't a G.S.E.D., who would be?
My active association with The Golfing Machine (and the golf business, period) ended in the year after Homer's death. At that time, Homer had awarded only two GSEDs: Ben Doyle (the Teacher) and Bobby Clampett (the Performer). Over a two year period, I had built a golf business that was successful by any definition. But with Homer gone, things had changed.
I was as deeply committed to The Golfing Machine as ever -- perhaps even more -- but was unable to secure adequate legal protection for my efforts. Without that protection, I could not justify the personal and financial sacrifice necessary to build a dominant business around the "name." I wasn't interested in doing it any other way, and I had compelling alternatives. Hence, the "road not taken."
My presence on these two sites is born of respect for Homer Kelley and his genius. Just as South African diamonds are hidden deep within the blue clay, so are the treasures of The Golfing Machine. They yield only to time and purpose. I am here to hasten that process for the readers of these Forums.
I love The Golfing Machine. Always have. It is now in good hands...capable hands that will once again bring Homer's work 'front and center' to the Golf World. Those hands know that mine are available -- albeit in a limited capacity -- to assist in the challenge that lies ahead.
He's not Yoda, He's the Lone Ranger!!!!! He came back to finish what the master started. Seriously, it doesn't really matter to me who he really is, i've learned alot since he started posting. One can only hope he stays for along time.
Rangerover
Thanks, RR. But there is no finishing what the Master started. We are looking at the Energizer Bunny here. It's going to keep going and going and going! Long after we're all gone.
Now, where did I put those silver bullets?
Fade to the Theme Song "William Tell Overture".....
Voiceover:
"A fiery horse with the speed of light.
A cloud of dust and a hearty 'Hi Ho Silver!'
The Lone Green Ranger rides again!"
"With his faithful Indian companion Tonto,
The daring Masked Rider of the Plains
Led the fight for law and order in the early West.
Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear...
The Lone Green Ranger rides Again!
Hi Ho Silver!
Away!"
Now you know how Yoda spent his Saturday mornings those many moons ago!
