After reading around the subject, I have decided on the following approach.
I am going to follow the 'German Body Comp' of Charles Poliquin. I like the way he is described in T-nation:
I received some great advice on my diet as well. I intend to follow a paleo diet plan with a maximum of 2 cheat meals per week.
I'll let you know how its progressing.
Just don't do Poliquin's German Volume Training and you should be alright. That could wreck a person. Chad Waterbury is another person you may wish to check out for some good workouts if you reach a plateau on Poliquin's program. I'm familiar with a lot of Poliquin's ideas, just not a lot of his programs.

The reason you can't sustain the lag is because you are so eager to make the club move fast (a reaction to the intent of "hitting it far"). So on a full shot you throw it away too early, which doesn't happen for your short chip. (bts)
