The impact of temperature on distance
Overkill/Henny,

Does the ball fly further when it is 100 degrees than when it is 80 degrees? What is the impact of humidity? Is there any type of formula you have developed? I've felt I killed it before when it was 35 degrees and I didn't have to walk very far. Between 35 degrees and 100 degrees I am guessing there might be as much as a 20% difference in driver distance.

Really curious to hear what you guys think.

The reason you can't sustain the lag is because you are so eager to make the club move fast (a reaction to the intent of "hitting it far"). So on a full shot you throw it away too early, which doesn't happen for your short chip. (bts)

Don't tell me, you hit your pitching wedge 175. Of course 95 yards of it is roll.

Me play a pinnacle? NEVER!
I chicken out and pay through the nose for x's just like many others.

My favorite ball EVER was the Tour Edition! I could pull that baby back! Plus it not get squishy and brusied like the old balatas. I think Norman played it way back when.

Stiff shaft, hard ball...we have talked about the benefits of stiff shafts...how about the ball?

Like your golf balls would ever drop below your body temp . . . as much pocket pool as you play??? I'm shocked you don't swing with your mits in your pockets.

Now that i have made the limit, I may have to actually make some posts that add to the discussions, my bucket manual says you have to do that every once and awhile, to keep some creditibilty!!!

Frank Thomas, former technical director for the USGA, says that for every 10* difference in temperature we gain, or lose, around 2.5 yards of carry.
